The anime world is continuously growing over the past couple of years. We’ve seen many new series that caught the eye of the public, as well as movies, and even new video games. There is something charismatic about anime games that you simply cannot get enough.

This year so far, we’ve seen releases of anime video game adaptations from some of the all-time favorite franchises. Bandai Namco is one of the biggest anime game publishers in the world, and they are building the trend by adapting some of the world’s most popular anime franchises.

Let’s go through the list of anime games for 2020, and see what we got so far.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4

The fourth Pirate Warriors game was released this year, and it has been a blast. Using Straw Hat Pirates, your job is to beat up thousands of goons. This game offers lots of fun and a great anime design that will leave you wanting more as soon as you turn off the game.

In addition to the previous game, they added a new story and few new playable characters. Pirate Warriors is a fun art style game that has a lot of diversity in terms of characters and their unique skills and abilities.

Characters are building combo attacks on enemies by combining heavy attacks, special skills, as well as transformation. It is an interesting game to play and definitely worth downloading.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakaort

Over the years, we’ve seen so many Dragon Ball games it is hard to count. However, with their latest release, it seems like this game is here to stay. Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is an exciting action-RPG which many side quests to keep you entertained.

You should not expect any kind of twist in terms of story, and it is just the same as the original Dragon Ball Z.

Even though the name of the game is Kakarot (Goku’s birth name), it doesn’t mean that he is the only playable character. You can play Trunks, Gohan, Vegeta, and Piccolo at certain parts of the story.

With its incredible in-game mechanics and beautiful graphics, it is one of the best anime game adaptations we’ve seen so far.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris

This game is actually the anime itself. It is an action-RPG where you play the main character Kirito and up to three party members. Even though you play in a team of four, you can only switch out to two characters since the other two are only AI-controlled.

It is not the best game in the anime world, since it needs a bit more work, but it is a nice way to change things up.

One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows

Finally, we got the new One Punch Man, which is an anime is a fighting game released from Bandai Namco. As the name suggests, it is about a titular hero that can beat anyone with one punch, which is kind of hilarious.

The character itself has a timer, and he can join the fight after 120 seconds or so. This game is a 3v3 battle, very similar to Marvel vs. Capcom 3. If you have played the Naruto Ninja Storm game series, this game feels exactly like it.

The mechanics are actually really good. You will see punches flying faster than a horse racing in the Kentucky Derby (click here to see the current odds by the way).

It might not be as deep and complex as Dragon Ball Fighter Z, but definitely deserves a piece of the cake.
